Virginia Popper is a communications specialist with more than 10 years experience in marketing and strategic communications. While at AHC Consulting, Virginia has worked with several non-profit clients on strategic communications as well as website development and copywriting.
A veteran of Fleishman-Hillard (Kansas City), Bernstein-Rein Advertising and Sprint, Virginia brings a broad range of expertise, including internal communications, media relations, community relations, proposal development and newsletter writing and production. During her years of agency and corporate communications work, Virginia has had the opportunity to work on projects and accounts in healthcare, telecommunications and retail.
Virginia has managed communications for a Kansas City-headquartered pharmaceutical company, including the proposed launch of its anti-epilepsy drug and its advocacy efforts with the Epilepsy Foundation of America. She also was responsible for Kansas City-area public relations and communications for Southwestern Bell, including extensive media relations and community relations, serving as a local spokesperson for the company. Virginia has handled grand openings and market entries for national retail clients Blockbuster Video, Valvoline and Eckerd Drugs, including publicity and community relations support.
Virginia has experience with national media tours, including a youth soccer-themed tour for Omaha-based Armour Foods and local media tours and publicity for Starlight Theater.
Virginia has served on the Prairie Elementary School’s Fund Advisory Board, which funds the school’s Spanish teacher and educational aides; served on the PTA Executive Board; and co-chaired a key school fundraiser.
